April Horoscope 2018 – Overview
We move forward into spring but this month we’ll devote a lot of time looking back! On April 1st, April Fool’s Day and Easter Sunday, we’re dealing with the Sun conjunct Mercury aspect. Under normal circumstances, this aspect highlights an exceptional time for communications of all kinds. Mercury’s ruling influence holds sway over communication and the rationale mind. But, we’re not looking at the average period here. We are still in the grips Mercury retrograde until mid-month and sure to feel its influence!
Even on the best of days for communication, we should be extra cautious! Back up any documents. Store important messages and communications in a safe place. Double check any important mailings to make sure they reach their destination. This is no time to make major decisions. Try to hold off important choices until after April 15th when Mercury goes direct at 5:20 am.
During the first half of April, retrograde energies will put all Zodiac Signs to the test. It might stir up long lost, stagnate relationships and bring them to life. This may be a time to work through old emotional wounds or karmic debt. At a minimum, you may ask why your stomach knots up when you run into that ex of yours from so long ago! These energies should bring an interesting dynamic to family gatherings on the holidays too!
With the Venus trine Saturn aspect on April 7th, this makes it a great time to consider the strength of current friendships and love connections. For those relationships no longer serving you, it may be time to sever the ties.
This month is all about the past as we enter one retro phase after another. Just two days out of the shadow of Mercury’s retrograde, we’ll see Saturn go retrograde on April 17th 8:39 pm. Just when we thought the dust was settling, the Cosmos as something else in mind. We’ve got more Karmic debt to deal with this month.
The past continues to haunt us! Saturn’s retrograde forces us to confront problems we’ve long avoided. It’s as if the Universe tests our personal strength at its core. If we learn from the lessons from the Cosmos, we can break free from our karmic chains.
You’ll have plenty of time to work out the lessons too, as Saturn goes direct on September 6, 2018 at 5:43 am. Then, Pluto goes retrograde on April 20, 2018 at 5:37pm further intensifying the focus on karmic lessons. Pluto goes direct next year, on January 21st, 2019, leaving some of us dealing with a karmic-ridden undercurrent the remainder of the year.
It’s a good thing we’ll be able to tap into our personal strength to get through these trying times. We can give thanks to the Mars sextile Jupiter aspect on April 24 for our ability to do so. We’re assured greater success when we tackle those emotional issues we’ve put off for so long. It’s a better time for tuning to our intuitive nature and using our instincts to find solutions.
On April 26, Mars conjuncts Pluto, increasing our sense of well-being, libido, and drive. By the time the full moon enters Scorpio highlighting our desires on April 29th, we’ll be feeling like our old self again! Finally, we witness the return and rise of personal power!

The disruptive energies in the first half of April are enough to rub any Aries soul the wrong way.
