Vampire Dreams

Ancient meaning: Eternal life and the vital power of blood. Vampires used blood as their source of rejuvenation and, in a sense, reincarnation. Among ancient Greeks, the underworld was filled with souls who craved life’s blood in the hopes of finding this renewal. On the dream plane, such symbolism can equate to finding ways to make the results of your efforts more durable and abiding.

Someone or something figuratively sucking the life away from you a little at a time. This person or situation may be very appealing on the surface, but definitely has an agenda that isn’t in your best interests.

Vegetables Dreams

Vegetables Dreams

(see by type, Eating, Garden)

If this is a play on words, your subconscious is saying that for some reason you have begun to feel as productive as an inanimate, uprooted vegetable. Get up and become an active participant in life again!

Each vegetable in a dream has a different interpretive value. For example, a carrot is a masculine emblem that also represents vision and luck. Additionally, as an omen, carrots symbolize forthcoming wealth, health, and happy marriages. Dreaming of eating celery is an omen of love and affection. Cauliflower growing in a garden foretells increased business prospects, corn might depict a “corny” personality or the promise of improved finances, and beans carry a magical overtone thanks to the story of “Jack and the Beanstalk.”

Root vegetables denote grounding, a connection to your family, and the staples of both spiritual and mundane life.

Jungian: Because vegetables get nourished by all the elements, they represent the depths of the subconscious, the deepest roots, and the fundamental self.

Societal, cultural, or religious limitations. Many vegetables have been shunned because of one of these contexts, such as tomatoes being thought poisonous, or potatoes not being eaten by Puritans because they are not in the Bible.

Eating vegetables in a dream is a portent of odd luck and coincidence on the horizon.

Veil Dreams

(see Curtain, Dancing, Fabric, Wedding)

Separations between people, situations, or dimensions. The Hebrew veils of the temple marked the line between the outer and inner sanctuary, the latter of which was YHWH’s abode.

Societal transitions, just as marriage veils mark the transition from single woman to wife.

Insecurity. The need to hide behind something so that your true feelings cannot be seen.

Dreaming of bridal veils, especially for a woman, portends successful changes.

Putting aside a veil reflects a willingness to accept a change in status or role in a situation.

Celtic: The movement of fate, which can never be totally seen or known within mortal limits. It was believed that a peek behind fate’s veil presaged death.

Seven veils, such as those possessed by Salome and Isis, represent the planetary spheres (see Planets, Zodiac Signs). On the dream plane, this may open new insight into the weavings of fate or destiny as they interact with your free will.

Veils may also reflect endings, as they were often worn by widows during mourning.

Velocity Dreams

(see Bus, Car, Travel)

Moving slowly in a dream may reflect taking your time and considering each step necessary for success. Alternatively, it can indicate procrastination or delays that may or may not be of your own doing.

Rapid movement represents hasty actions which may not have been thoroughly thought out. This can also reflect that you are moving through life so quickly and busily that you never stop to smell the roses.

Dream sequences that go in very slow motion are usually replays of something that’s happened so that you can examine the details more closely and from an alternative perspective.

Venus Dreams

(see Space, Stars, Zodiac Signs – Taurus, Libra)

Astrology Planet Symbol Venus The planet Venus is so named for the Roman goddess of love, hence dreaming about Venus symbolizes love in all its forms (platoninc/romantics relationships), matters of beauty/appearance and passions.

Dreams about Venus can symbolize Taurus and Libra in the 12 Zodiac Signs.

Vine Dreams

(see Grapes, Ivy, Leaves)

A clingy, uncertain personality type, but also likely very faithful.

Pretty appearances that threaten to entangle you in something in which you may not wish to participate.

In a jungle, vines offer a way of escaping danger by climbing or swinging upward to safety. If you’re being offered a way out of a situation right now, seriously consider taking it.

Vinegar Dreams

(see Eating)

Making the best of a bad situation. Vinegar is actually wine or cider that has turned, but still gets effectively applied. What situation seems negative right now, and how can you mix things up so that they turn in your favor?

Placing objects into vinegar: Safeguarding or saving things for when they are most needed. Vinegar has a natural preservative quality that allows it to last for up to a year along with any herbs placed therein.

Drinking vinegar: Being a sourpuss, as if you’ve just swallowed vinegar along with your words (e.g., someone who is full of “piss and vinegar”).

Singling out aspects of yourself to develop more publicly. In this case, note the name of the winning candidate for possible symbolism. For example, if Ms. Lovage Charity appears, you may be trying to develop a stronger charitable image in your community.
