The inability to make a decision leaves you in a corner or leads to a dead end.
A part of yourself has remained unexpressed or underdeveloped, and therefore it is unable to integrate properly, causing arrested progress. Look to see what region of your body is paralyzed for more insight. For example, having your hand paralyzed might reflect an inability to give charitably or accept aid when it’s offered.
Fears and other intense emotions that leave you unable or unwilling to act.
Parents Dreams

A reflection of your relationship with your parents now, or a memory from past experiences with them.
Archetypally, the God or Goddess parent to all humankind who guides and inspires (see Angel, Icon).
Any authority figure whom you respect in the same manner as a parent.
A personification of your Higher Self.
Parrot Dreams

Mirroring habits, characteristics, or ways that are not necessarily reflective of who you really are.
Repetition of cycles or patterns in your life, some of which may not be positive.
Among Pueblo Indians, an alternative emblem of the sun, which also embodies the power of color and light.
If the parrot is in the air, possibly a type of flying dream.
A “yes” person who accepts everything she/he is told to do or believe without real scrutiny.
Mockery or gossip.
In a cage, the parrot embodies the inability to integrate the lessons you see reflected through other people’s words and actions.

Path Dreams

Spiritual directions and focus. Taoism, for example, translated from the Chinese, means “the way” or “path.” Buddhism teaches the eightfold path to enlightenment. Christ spoke of the path of righteousness.
A guideline, edict, or idea that you are following now, or plan to follow in the future. Paths have defined borders that set them apart from the accompanying countryside, showing the way to go.
A sign of fairy mischief or presence. In European and rural American folklore, bright green lines of grass were called fairy paths, and believed to be created by the passage of these elemental beings.
Meandering: Varying from your destiny or taking temporary detours away from a previously specified goal.
Divergent: A decision must be made, but both options appear equal. See if your dream reveals something about this choice that you have not seen yet, such as one path exhibiting weeds that might entangle you.
Well-worn: Either being in a rut, or staying so constrained to one way of thinking and living that the same old routes get walked again and again.
Straight: Staying true to your ideals, lifestyle, and/or goals.
Peach Dreams

Generally an emblem of wisdom, except in the East where peaches are given the additional attributes of a happy marriage and long life.
In China, the flowers that bear peaches are used within the home to avert negativity. If tensions have been high with your family lately, now’s the time to begin the healing process.
Among Taoists, a source that offers productive energy, especially in a sexual sense. This idea seemed to hold true in other cultures too, as the Greeks attributed this fruit to the rule of Venus, and Albertus Magnus recommended eating peaches as an aphrodisiac.
A sarcastic visual pun that indicates a situation or person you find less than “peachy.”
Peacock Dreams

Outward displays of vanity or conceit.
Expressing yourself in a manner that others see as boastful.
Pride, dignity, or self-respect (e.g., being “proud as a peacock”).
In Babylonia and Persia, an emblem of regality. Similarly in the East, peacocks represent rank and having obtained the favor of powerful people.
Buddhist: Compassion and fidelity. It was believed that Kwan Yin, the protectress of children and mothers, took this form, and that peacocks would die of loneliness if their mate passed away.
A warning that bragging will eventually bring sadness. This bird foretells rainfall by its dancing.
Pearl Dreams

Something that, once found, is worth all your sacrifice (e.g., the “pearl of great price”).
Sagacity and the creative aspects of self (e.g., “pearls of wisdom”).
An alternative symbol for moon and water.
Freshwater pearls: Strung together, they represent progressive learning, or serious thought that leads to a perspicacious decisions, action, or conclusion.
Black pearls, while rare, are actually considered a negative portent due to their color (white represents purity). Something in your line of reasoning or current situation is likely flawed, and could lead to trouble.
Peas Dreams

An alternative emblem of the male testicles, especially when dreamt of in pairs.
Black-eyed peas appearing in dreams portend improved good luck.
Comfortable companionship, relationships, or partnerships (e.g., “like two peas in a pod”).

Pelican Dreams

Rising above circumstances, or staying afloat when a sea of emotion threatens to overcome you. Despite their large, awkward size, pelicans are actually very buoyant.
Wise frugality, even during periods of apparent abundance. Pelicans do not immediately eat their catch, but save it in their bills.
Folkloric: Self-sacrifice for something you love, or a greater good. The red streak on the pelican’s chest supposedly occurred when it opened itself to feed its starving young.
Penguin Dreams

If swimming in water, this represents free movement through your dreams. Anticipate more frequent dreams, as well as those with increased detail.
A penguin has wings, but does not fly. These actually help them steer through the water. So, if you’ve been trying to “fly” in a specific situation that seems to be going nowhere, consider an alternative tact, using your given talents and insight as a guide.
Peony Dreams
Dreams about the peony are calls from spirit guides and angels telling us that now is the time to organize our life plans.
Dreaming about peonies can also be a message letting us know that reflecting on the past will help us achieve self actualization.
These beautiful springtime flowers may be sending their loving energy to give you the courage to pop out of your shell and that being too timid in life can limit your happiness.
In flower meanings and symbolism, Peonies represent loving relationships filled with peace and mutual adoration.
Pentagram/Pentacle Dreams

This pictograph was used widely in the ancient world as a protective amulet, specifically to ward off the evil eye and malicious magic. On the dream plane, this may indicate that you sense some type of psychic or mundane threat to your well-being for which you should take proper precautions.
An emblem of the esoteric mysteries, and possibly the development of specific occult or magical abilities within. Note that the pentacle was often also called a wizard’s star or witch’s cross in the Middle Ages.
Among Gypsies and some earth-centered religions, this pentacle was an emblem of health and long life. This probably developed due to the natural pentacle formed by seeds when an apple is sliced in half.
Perfume (Aromas) Dreams

In European and Victorian American folk beliefs, certain aromas indicate the presence of a spirit (see Ghost), especially favored colognes and perfumes of deceased family members.
Bitter aromas indicate anger, jealously, and harsh attitudes. This scent can also indicate an attempt to cover up something foul.
Sickly sweet scents reveal insincerity, dishonesty, and hypocrisy.
Light, pleasant aromas are usually associated with positive emotions. For example, a gentle rose fragrance may symbolize tender love, and the aroma of honeysuckle may indicate accomplishment (e.g., the “sweet smell of success”).
Memories: Some people respond very strongly to aromas, and can relive experiences through scents appearing in their dreams.
